Home Tour: Trina Turk’s Palm Springs Home

7 Jul

Good morning! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend. Today I have a fun, cheery home tour that will brighten up your Monday. This Palm Springs home belongs to fashion designer Trina Turk and her husband Jonathan Skow. When decorating their home they became inspired by 1960s and early ’70s cocktail culture. I love the color and pattern throughout this mid-century modern home. Take a look!

Good morning! I hope you all had a great weekend. Happy Cinco de Mayo! In honor of the colorful holiday I have a beautiful colorful home tour for you. This British Columbia home is full of vibrant colors that make this space bright and happy. I love all the pops of orange, yellow, red and green used throughout the home. The use of white as a back drop makes the vibrant colors really stand out. This home has a fun laid-back vibe. Take a look.

Orange is the New Black

19 Sep

Have any of you watched the Netflix show Orange is the New Black? My husband and I just started watching and we are HOOKED!! I had heard so many rave reviews and now I know why! Prison orange is not the most flattering color, but it has inspired this post! Orange can be such a happy color for interiors. With fall approaching I start to feel myself being drawn to this warm color. Take a look at these beautiful, thankfully not prison-like, spaces.

Loving, Wanting, Needing: Hermes Tray

10 Sep

So today is all about the luxe Hermes tray. Let me be clear there is no way my husband would EVER let me spend the crazy amount of money it takes to get one of these beauties so I’m just going to drool over these images. I have been crushing on this tray for some time, but I pinned an office space that has the tray front and center and I think my heart skipped a beat. You may not have noticed, but one of the spaces from my post yesterday also has a Hermes tray on display. Take a look at what I’m taking about.

Color Obsession: Pastels

1 Mar

Nothing quite says Springtime like pastels. The soft pinks, blues, yellows, greens, etc. are so relaxing and fresh. Pastels are perfect as accents for interiors to add a softness and fresh touch for spring. I love adding a soft color to my spaces as a nice contrast against stronger colors. Here are some of my favorite pastel interiors.

These new updates respect the home’s history while making it feel modern and warm. All of the colors are used in small doses for balance. Modern furniture brings freshness to the classic architecture of the home. I particularly love the colors in the living room. What is your favorite? Have a great rest of your day!!

Painting the Interior

17 Jan

One of my favorite trends right now is painting the interior of cabinetry. I love either the bold pop of color or a great contrasting hue. Painting the interior of cabinetry gives it a custom one of a kind look. I have done this with my dresser at home. I took an old dresser and gave it a facelift with brown paint on the exterior and green interior. I love it! Take a look at these awesome examples of painting the interior.
