Home Tour: Feminine Glam Home

29 Jan

I ran across this super glam home while perusing Style at Home and knew I had to show you! This feminine glam home belongs to Christine Dovey of the blog Bijou and Boheme. 3 years ago she sold all of her furniture and decided to start fresh. This gave Christine an opportunity to indulge her super- feminine, glamorous side, including plenty of gold, pink and animal prints. I know you will all love her beautiful home. Take a look!

Home Tour: Bethenny Frankel’s TriBeCa Loft

23 Jan

I have been a HUGE fan of Bethenny Frankel’s for so many years starting with season 1 of The Real Housewives of NYC. (One of my many guilty pleasures.) I then fell in love with her even more on her spinoff shows Bethenny Getting Married? and Bethenny Ever After. Watching this strong woman going after her dream and taking her idea and making it a reality is very inspiring. Watching her build her brand from the ground up has been amazing. She has become very successful with her Skinnygirl Cocktails and other Skinnygirl products. Not only is she a fab business mogul and reality TV star she is also a NY Times bestselling author of books such as Skinnydipping, Naturally Thin, A Place of Yes (and more). You can check out her books and other products here.

I saw part of her design process remodeling her 3,400 square foot TriBeCa Loft on her show Bethenny Ever After and I am so excited to show you images of her finished space. Bethenny worked with mother-daughter design duo Mariette Himes Gomez and Brooke Gomez. Her space is sophisticated with pops of color and personality. I love that Bethenny mixes high end furnishings and designer fabrics with pieces from Ikea, CB2, and Restoration Hardware. These choices create the perfect balance. Take a look at Bethenny’s beautiful loft!

living dining room

Bethenny had an inspiration notebook containing images of her dream apartment ideas starting from 15 years ago. This starbusrt chandelier was from that inspiration book and was a great starting point for this space.

I love the pops of the red-orange color throughout her home. It also happens to be the signature color of her Skinnygirl Cocktails.

This is where the magic happens. This office is so organized and clean. I could live in there. For sure.

Bethenny’s young daughter Bryn is one lucky girl! This pink bedroom is just too cute!

master

Bethenny’s master bedroom is the ultimate sanctuary. The muted gray tones and soft blues create a relaxing escape. Rose-patterned custom wallpaper designed by Ted Tyler adorns the walls.

closet

I just about DIED when I saw this closet! I mean wow! Who wouldn’t want a closet like this?

Bethenny’s turquoise master bath is serene and spa-like. The vanity stone is so beautiful!

No Skinnygirl’s home would be complete without a bar right?

Isn’t her apartment beautiful? The details are gorgeous. When Bethenny was first on the Housewives we saw her in a 1 bedroom apartment now she is in this 3 bedroom beauty. I have enjoyed watching her inspiring journey and will continue to follow her success. Look out for her new daytime talk show in the fall!

Home Tour: Scandinavian Design on a Budget

11 Sep

Style at Home’s style and food editor Tara Ballantyne made over her 1980s 900 square foot duplex for under $10,000. She has been drawn to Scandinavian design for years and wanted to bring the style into her home. She created a wonderful space on a budget. I think you will all enjoy it! Take a look!

Tara’s style is modern and clean. She found those lockers at a local YMCA and re-finished them. Clever!

The tree stump tables were created from a fallen electrical pole that Tara literally pulled over on the side of the road to ask some city electricians for. They bring more warm wood (and inventive furniture options) into the room.

Tara painted her grandmother’s dresser and uses it as a sideboard. She freshened up the other furniture with a coat of paint to fit with the color scheme.

The house lacked closet space in the front entrance, so Tara took advantage of the landing (as you enter the main floor from the entryway) and created a functional nook with a wall-mounted organizer with small cubbies and paired it with a stepstool and a simple, oversized mirror.

The bed frame made of pallets is super cost effective and creates a great look!

Her home is light, bright, minimal, and warm. The way things are styled and put together is perfect!

Designer Showcase: Dehn Bloom Design

23 May

Today I am going to show you some amazing designs by Allison Bloom of Dehn Bloom Design. She is a San Francisco based interior designer. I love finding amazing designers in my area! Her design work is motivated by a desire to create thoughtful and beautiful interiors. Natural light, good proportions and a connection to the outdoors are all key components of her designs. I love her mix of raw and refined materials in her designs. Her designs are inspiring and feel so fresh.

The two images above are from the SF Decorator Showcase House where 30 designers work to renovate a historic home in San Francisco. The showcase goes thru May 28th.

I love her use of neutral colors to create clean fresh feeling spaces. The use of natural elements in interesting ways it definitely inspiring. I hope you are all inspired and have fallen in love with her designs like I did! Visit Dehn Bloom’s website for more information.
