Gallery Wall + Minted

9 Jan

Happy Friday! I’m sure most of you are familiar with Minted. If not, now is the time to become very familiar. Minted is a one stop shop. You can find beautiful pieces of art from tons of independent artists. You can customize holiday cards and announcements. (If you are getting married you should check out their new collection of Save the Dates!) You can find fabrics and home decor. The options are endless! I have been a customer of Minted for years. We ordered our holiday cards from them this year and I have purchased pieces of art that add personality to my home. When looking for new and interesting art I always look at Minted first. Especially now living in a new home, we have walls to fill! I went through the thousands (yes thousands!) and pulled together a few of my favorites. I am also sharing my gallery wall we put together in our living room featuring one of my favorite prints from Minted.

When creating my gallery wall I wanted it to feel collected. I took my time finding things to frame. I mixed in art, mini canvases I painted, personal pictures, and paper I found at Paper Source. Over time I plan to add to it, but for now it is finished. My Minted All in the Details print fits in perfectly.

Home Tour: Beachy Glam

9 Jun

Happy Monday! Today I have a fun beachy glam home tour for you. Even better it’s all done on a budget! This home belongs to blogger Laura Collins. To keep costs down, she filled the home with inexpensive artwork and revamped retro furniture from a variety of sources, including Craigslist and secondhand shops. The bright colors, metallic pieces, and rattan furniture look like they would have cost a fortune! I love the mix of old and new, it is something I use in my own space, it makes your home feel more authentic.

Isn’t this space fun? I really love the styling. This home definitely looks like it cost a lot more than it did. I really love the mix of pieces in the living room. The different textures and layers really pull the whole space together. Which is your favorite space?

Home Tour: Cotton Candy Barn

2 Jun

Good morning! I recently ran across an image of a beautiful barn designed by Steven Gambrel and I haven’t been able to forget it. This former dairy barn in Virginia has been converted to a beautiful entertaining space. The entire space is elegant and comfortable with lots of natural materials. The best part is the bright pink and blue doors and balustrades. The pop of color is simply amazing. I would never have thought to use this bright color combo in this barn interior. Take a look!

Gallery Wall Inspiration

28 Apr

Good morning! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I have been gathering frames to start a gallery wall for a while now and never devoted the time to really get the project started. So yesterday I finally took some time and laid everything out. I am now in the process of finding artwork to fill my frames. I put together my layout first so I can then determine the orientation of my artwork. I posted a picture of the progress on Instagram yesterday. If you didn’t see make sure to follow me! I have added in one mirror and 2 small canvases that I will paint. I like adding in pieces other than just frames to break it up. This gallery wall project is also on my 101 in 1001 list, so that gives me the extra motivation to get it done. If you have any go to art sources I’d love to hear your feedback! Here are some of my favorite gallery wall layouts.

Convex Mirrors

7 Jan

Good morning! I think every space needs a mirror of some sort. Large or small. They can serve as a beautiful focal point or space filler. Not only do mirrors provide an important function they can also be so chic! One style of mirror I want to get my hands on is the convex mirror. They are unique and still provide a great reflection of light. I am looking for a small one to be an accent in a gallery wall I am working on. I found many beautiful examples of convex mirrors in all their glory. Take a look!

Home Tour: Youthful Modern Family Home

12 Sep

Good morning! Today I have a beautiful home tour to share with you. This home belongs to Erica Cook and her five boys. Erica was a former designer at Sarah Richardson Design so she was able to see a lot of potential in her 1950s home. I love the clean and sophisticated look throughout the home. She primarily used a black and white color scheme which kept the whole home feeling cohesive. Take a look!

Doesn’t this home feel calm? I love the awesome gallery wall with the horse head. I love how she added in objects with frames to create a fun focal point. What is your favorite space?
