Happy Monday everyone! I hope you had a great weekend. Today I am introducing you to Chicago based interior designer Summer Thornton. After working at a high-end European textile company and under several other interior designers, Summer opened her firm in 2007. Summer Thornton blends texture, color and pattern to create smart and soulful surroundings all within her design philosophy of unpretentious, fun, and fresh. Summer’s interiors are traditional but injected with personality and energy. I love her bold designs and know you will too! Take a look.
Can we just take a moment to SWOON over this bedroom? The saturated colors and stripes are so beautiful! Okay, continue on.
I love Summer’s use of color, pattern, and texture. Her designs are fresh and interesting. As I mentioned I love that first bedroom. The use of color and pattern is genius! I love how each space although unique all feel clean, exciting, and inviting. Which is your favorite space? To see more of Summer Thornton’s beautiful work check out her website.
Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend and Mother’s Day! Today I am taking you on a tour of a funky modern townhouse. This Toronto home belongs to Style at Home’s section editor Catherine Therrien and her husband Aaron. This open concept space is full of color and pattern. I particularly like how Catherine chose to mix patterns in the spaces to add a funky modern feel. I know you will love this home. Take a look!
Beautiful isn’t it? There are so many things I love about this home. The colors, contrast, and patterns are all great. I love the black bookcases with white accents. What do you think?
I don’t know about you, but I am ready for some warm weather. I know compared to the rest of the country California really isn’t cold, but for this California girl it is. As I sit writing this post I am bundled under a blanket. Lately I have been daydreaming of laying on a warm sunny beach. This got me looking at beautiful coastal spaces. I love the beachy tones of turquoise, white, and coral. Seeing these colors immediately make my mind go to the sandy beach. Are you all fond of beachy spaces as well?
I wish I was laying under these palm trees!
Hope you enjoyed this short escape to the beach!

I have loved the color coral for a very long time. I always notice it when the color is used in interiors. Coral is a perfect happy medium between orange and pink. Coral pairs perfectly with so many colors such as grey, turquoise, navy blue, white and so many more. I have found some great examples of how to use this color in your home. What do you think of coral?
I love the way the coral pairs perfectly with white and chartreuse. This is a fresh modern space.
Coral is used as a perfect accent in this space. I love the light airy feel this color combination creates.
The use of coral on the ottoman and accent pillows add a pop of color in this space. The addition of the patterned chairs create a sophisticated look.
This sophisticated bedroom designed by Thom Felicia uses beautiful coral drapery to create a luxurious feel.
The tan raffia headboard mixes perfectly with the pops of coral. This bedroom seems like it belongs in a cozy cottage doesn’t it?
I love the coral pop in the artwork used in this living room. This space uses a darker color palette, but the use of coral softens and brightens the space a bit.
How could you not love a tufted coral bench?
This chic bathroom is gorgeous. The coral walls paired with the neutral subway tile is beautiful. The floor tile is also a fabulous touch.
I LOVE this coral chair with the touch of nailheads.
