Today I have a beautiful coastal inspired cottage to show you. The pale color palette used throughout is anything but boring. The use of mainly white with pale blue accents is really pretty. This cottage feels homey and inviting. Take a look.
Happy Monday! Today I have a fun beachy glam home tour for you. Even better it’s all done on a budget! This home belongs to blogger Laura Collins. To keep costs down, she filled the home with inexpensive artwork and revamped retro furniture from a variety of sources, including Craigslist and secondhand shops. The bright colors, metallic pieces, and rattan furniture look like they would have cost a fortune! I love the mix of old and new, it is something I use in my own space, it makes your home feel more authentic.
Isn’t this space fun? I really love the styling. This home definitely looks like it cost a lot more than it did. I really love the mix of pieces in the living room. The different textures and layers really pull the whole space together. Which is your favorite space?
Happy Monday everyone! I hope you had a great weekend! My husband and I got to babysit our one year old nephew which was a lot of fun, but completely exhausting!
I thought I would start off our week with some beautiful interiors that have been inspiring me lately. Check out my Pinterest for more!
I hope you all have a great day!!
How do you define your design style? It is hard for me to define mine because I feel like I like bits and pieces of different styles. I like all different styles of decor even if it is something I couldn’t see myself living in it I can still appreciate good design.
My design style is a modern take on classic elements. My style can be pretty eclectic. I love color, but it has to be balanced with neutrals. Every space, I think, should have a touch of glam or sparkle. Being form Southern California has definitely influenced my design style. I gravitate towards comfortable effortless spaces. See how hard that was for me to narrow down my design style? Geez. Is it hard for you to define your style? Here are examples of my perfect spaces.
Modern isn’t necessarily all minimalistic and about abstract art. I think making a space modern is all about the way you use unexpected elements or even classic items in a new way.
Classic designs like these are soft colors, traditional upholstered headboards, and timeless elements.
Every space should have a little glamour and that doesn’t mean it has to be over the top. The use of metals such as the gold used in these spaces add a glam touch.
Comfortable/ Coastal Inspired
I have always been drawn to comfortable/ coastal inspired design. Growing up near the beach definitely influenced that. These casual yet still sophisticated spaces really inspire me.
So I guess my style is a modern take on classic elements with a few glam and coastal touches thrown in. Kinda a long description! I love an eclectic mix. What is your design style?
I don’t know about you, but I am ready for some warm weather. I know compared to the rest of the country California really isn’t cold, but for this California girl it is. As I sit writing this post I am bundled under a blanket. Lately I have been daydreaming of laying on a warm sunny beach. This got me looking at beautiful coastal spaces. I love the beachy tones of turquoise, white, and coral. Seeing these colors immediately make my mind go to the sandy beach. Are you all fond of beachy spaces as well?
I wish I was laying under these palm trees!
Hope you enjoyed this short escape to the beach!
Designer Jim Gauthier had fond memories of summer days on the New Hampshire coast. In 2000 he found a home on the Hampton Beach. He liked the location and size, but not the curb appeal. He teamed up with architect Bruce Miller to create this bright and beautiful home. The home is family friendly and welcoming. Take a peek.
I love all the special touches in this home. From the anchor and lobster on the walls to the amazing porch swing. The colors and style perfectly fit with the beach surroundings. What do you think?

I love this office space! This office belongs to interior designer Amanda Nisbet. I love the pops of color and eclectic seating.
This is the reception area at Maison 140 a boutique hotel designed by Kelly Wearstler. I love that carpet! This space is so dramatic and sophisticated.
I am in love with this living room designed by Tobi Tobin. It feels so beachy and relaxing.
This is a guest bedroom also designed by Tobi Tobin. Love those wood headboards. They are such an interesting shape.
This living space uses modern and vintage elements to make a cohesive space. I love those tufted ottomans.
Check out the latest issue of Lonny Magazine I think you will love it as much as I did! Have a great day!!
