19 Sep

Happy Friday! If you follow me on instagram (you can click to follow me on the right) you may have seen me post a picture of a delicious new cocktail recipe I tried. Vodka tonics are a good go to drink it is a good base for a lot of different flavors. This time I jazzed it up with muddled blackberries and lemon. It was so refreshing and had the perfect balance of tartness. I thought I would share the recipe with you.

Home Tour: Trina Turk’s Palm Springs Home

7 Jul

Good morning! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend. Today I have a fun, cheery home tour that will brighten up your Monday. This Palm Springs home belongs to fashion designer Trina Turk and her husband Jonathan Skow. When decorating their home they became inspired by 1960s and early ’70s cocktail culture. I love the color and pattern throughout this mid-century modern home. Take a look!

Bar Cart Reveal

30 Sep

Good morning! I hope you all had a great weekend! I finally found my perfect bar cart from Target. You may remember it from my obsessions list. It is just the right size and color for my living room. An added bonus it was under $200! I pulled together items old and new to style it perfectly. I love the fact that this cart can evolve and change depending on what’s on it. Hope you all like it!

I’m in LOVE! I painted that canvas hanging above the cart. I will show you more details tomorrow.

I love our Mr. and Mrs. Rocks glasses from Furbish Studio! The tray they are sitting on was another craft project. I took a bare wood tray from Michael’s painted the edges gold and covered the surface with paper from Paper Source. I put a lacquered finish over it to protect from spills.

bar cart2I think it is important to have not only alcoholic options on the bar cart. There is something for everyone. I also liked adding books to break things up and add some height.

A special thanks goes to my friend Jen for the use of her snazzy camera to get these crisp shots.

Current Obsessions

13 Sep

Happy FRIDAY!! Today I am sharing some of my current obsessions in fashion, home decor, and beauty. Some of these things I have already snagged and love. Others I am looking forward to getting my hands on. Take a look and let me know what you think!

SLD-Current-Obsessions

1. I recently got this geometric necklace for only $22! I love statement necklaces, but I really hate to invest a lot of money in them.

2. Erase Paste is my go to concealer. I have used this for a couple years now. I usually don’t spend much on cosmetics, but this product works and lasts a long time! This is definitely worth the $26.

3. Navy blue nail polish is my go to color for Fall. This one by OPI is the perfect shade. It’s called “I Saw…U Saw… We Saw… Warsaw”

4. Do any of you struggle finding the perfect shade of foundation? I did! This Almay Smart Shade foundation is perfect. It’s light, matches your complexion, and under $10!

5. This tote is one item from the new Target collaboration with designer Philip Lim. I think it is so chic and affordable!

6. How cute are these birds? They are the perfect accent for a bookshelf, desk, or dresser.

7. I have been wanting to find the perfect mint julep cup to accent my desk. I think this octagonal shaped one is unique.

8. Good Morning Beautiful. Who wouldn’t want to drink their morning coffee out of this mug?

9. One thing I love most about Fall is boots! The black and brown combo is versatile for many different outfits.

10. This Kate Spade clutch is chic and fun. I love the bright colors and bow!

11. I recently spotted this Lily Pulitzer iPad case at Home Goods and knew I needed it considering my slight obsession with flamingos…

12. The Threshold collection at Target has done it again! They recently came out with the brass bar cart. It is so fabulous and a great price!

13. A few weeks ago I purchased this Nate Berkus bath rug at Target. It has really brightened up the space.

Maybe my last item should be I’m obsessed with Target considering so many items on my list are from there!

Do you have certain things you are obsessed with lately?

Have a great weekend!!

3. Using a decorative tray helps to keep things organized and adds a pop of color.

4. It is always handy to have bottle stoppers. These are so fab!

5. These cocktail napkins also add a pop of color to any bar. And they come in handy too!
