Home Tour: Small NYC Apartment

11 Jul

I love when I find a small space that has a bold big design. This 800 square foot NYC apartment designed by Ashley Whittaker is feminine, bold, and glamorous. I love the mixture of patterns to create an interesting sophisticated space. Take a look!

I love some of the tricks Ashley used in order to make the space feel larger. Such as hanging the roman shades in the bedroom an inch from the molding to create the illusion the windows are larger. Using white cabinetry and a small table in the kitchen makes this space airy. What do you think of this apartment? I love that this is such a small space, but seems so larger because of the design choices.

I completely agree that the designer did an excellent job making the space appear larger. I’ve noticed that decorating a small space can be more of a challenge (a fun one though) than starting from scratch in a large home. The kitchen wallpaper is phenomenal. Great find!

Thanks! That wallpaper is amazing! Unexpected for an apartment kitchen.
