From Runway to Living Room

13 Aug

I apologize for being MIA this past week! My husband and I moved and it has been quite hectic! So to get back in the swing of things I am going to offer you some fashionable inspiration. Whether its in the fabrics, colors, or patterns often the biggest trends from the runway end up translated into home designs. The fashion and home design world often overlap.

Too many bright colors can be overwhelming. Use pops of color for a chic pulled together look. Using the brights against a neutral color creates great balance as well.

Color blocking is a big trend in fashion as seen in this Alice and Olivia dress. Translate this into your home by color blocking the walls to define the space or on an accent wall.

Graphic patterns have always been popular in fashion. Mixing prints as seen in that runway photo can be translated into your home by a bold patterned wallpaper as seen in that workspace.

This mid-century modern fashion design is translated into this home perfectly. The turquoise shades and retro shapes reflects this style.

Pastels immediately add femininity and serenity to a space. This stunning Elle Saab gown is a perfect inspiration for any pastel room.

Stripes are one of the timeless patterns often used in fashion and home design.

All white is such a crisp, clean, and timeless look. Mix shades of white and textures to create a serene home.
