Contrasting Kitchen Cabinets

Every space should make a statement. In the kitchen one of the best (and my favorite) ways to make a statement is with contrasting kitchen cabinets. By doing this you still have a classic look, but with a fresh and modern twist. Take a look at these fabulous contrasting cabinets.

Aren’t they fabulous?? I began to then look for other spaces that used roman shades as not only a window covering, but as a statement piece. I love thinking of roman shades as an opportunity to incorporate pattern or art into the space. Don’t you?

Home Tour: Mark and Cinda Boomershine

Did you all have a good weekend? Mine flew by! Today I am taking you on home tour of Mark and Cinda Boomershine’s Atlanta home. Mark is an artist and Cinda is a fashion accessories designer. This home is full of life and color. This 1920s home has formal architecture, but instead of letting the architecture dictate the design style the Boomershines juxtaposed it with their fearless and elegant design style.  I know you will enjoy the tour. Color Obsession: Shades of Blue

Happy Thursday everyone! I love the color blue. There are so many beautiful shades. Turquoise, cobalt, navy, powder blue, etc. I love mixing and matching these hues. Blues are perfect for all seasons and pair nicely with many other colors. I think one reason I love blue so much is growing up in Southern California near the ocean blues have always been calming and reminded me of the beautiful water.

So don’t get me wrong I do like stainless steel appliances, but I am getting a little tired of seeing the same look in every kitchen. I have been loving colored appliances. Whether they are black with metal trim, green, red, or even blue I love the extra pop. Take a look at some of my favorites.

Beachy Keen

I don’t know about you, but I am ready for some warm weather. I know compared to the rest of the country California really isn’t cold, but for this California girl it is. As I sit writing this post I am bundled under a blanket. Lately I have been daydreaming of laying on a warm sunny beach. This got me looking at beautiful coastal spaces.  I love the beachy tones of turquoise, white, and coral. Seeing these colors immediately make my mind go to the sandy beach. Are you all fond of beachy spaces as well?

Today I am going to take you on a tour of Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner’s New York apartment. Designed by Kelly Behun the apartment reflects Trump’s classic style. The designer describes the style as “modern warm” which is perfect for this family home. I think you all be surprised how understated this home is. I think it is so beautiful and perfectly designed. Beautiful right? There are so many details I love about this home. First, the amazing foyer with the mural and custom made driftwood table. Absolutely beautiful! Second, the master bedroom is so glamorous and understated. I love the lacquered console and the stools at the foot of the bed. This whole home is chic and beautiful. What do you think?

Designer Spotlight: Studio Ten 25

Today I am introducing you to designer Abbe Fenimore of Studio Ten 25. Studio Ten 25 was founded in 2007 in Dallas by Abbe. Abbe’s style is an eclectic balance of vibrant color and a mix of rich materials. Abbe also opened an online marketplace Shop Ten 25 that carries everything from accessories to luxury furniture. I think you will all enjoy seeing Abbe’s gorgeous designs. Her use of color and pattern add a lot of personality to the spaces. Take a look!
