Home Tour: Maine Summer House

24 Apr

Happy Wednesday! I hope your week is going well so far! Today I am taking you on a fabulous home tour. Designers John Knott and John Fondas transformed an old hotel in Maine by layering fabric and wallpaper to energize the many rooms. The result is a bold summer house with classic American style. I love the nautical touches used throughout the home. The fabrics and patterns are amazing! The vivid fabrics are courtesy of John Knott’s firm Quadrille. The home is full of antiques and eclectic pieces. Take a look!

Flower Power

19 Feb

Flowers aren’t just for your grandma’s house anymore! Floral prints are making a huge comeback in modern designs and colors. This year at fashion week there were numerous designers using floral prints in their clothing and interiors are also following this trend. You can use touches of floral prints in modern ways by pairing it with other patterns or modern furniture. Choose a larger scale floral pattern in punchy colors for the most modern effect. Floral prints can be used in many different ways, but the most popular would be fabrics and wallpaper. Take a look at these spaces that use the power of the flower!

These new updates respect the home’s history while making it feel modern and warm. All of the colors are used in small doses for balance. Modern furniture brings freshness to the classic architecture of the home. I particularly love the colors in the living room. What is your favorite? Have a great rest of your day!!
