Geometic Patterns

31 May

I absolutely love geometric patterns used in interiors. Whether its on the floors, walls, or accessories I love it all.

This floor is pretty fabulous. The geometric stone pattern creates a lot of interest. I love the bold statement but using the neutral colors does not overwhelm the space.

How glamorous is this little entry space? The gold and white geometric wallpaper is the perfect backdrop.

The brown and white diamond patterned sofas ground this eclectic space. They add a modern, bold touch.

I love this bedroom space. The balance of masculine and feminine elements is perfect. The mixture of patterns on the wall and floor mix so well together.

I am in love with this black and white hexagonal stair runner. It is so bold and creates a great focal point when walking into the house.

Here are a few of my favorite geometric patterned accessories:

Watermelon Mojito

Strawberry Peach Vodka Collins Popsicles

Mixed Berry and Coconut Yogurt Popsicles

I cup Mixed Berries fresh or frozen

Put your popsicle molds in freezer before starting. To make the berry sauce, blend berries with 1 tbs of honey. Strain through fine sieve and drizzle sauce equally into molds coating the sides. Place molds back into the freezer until sauce has set.

Designer Showcase: Dehn Bloom Design

23 May

Today I am going to show you some amazing designs by Allison Bloom of Dehn Bloom Design. She is a San Francisco based interior designer. I love finding amazing designers in my area! Her design work is motivated by a desire to create thoughtful and beautiful interiors. Natural light, good proportions and a connection to the outdoors are all key components of her designs. I love her mix of raw and refined materials in her designs. Her designs are inspiring and feel so fresh.

The two images above are from the SF Decorator Showcase House where 30 designers work to renovate a historic home in San Francisco. The showcase goes thru May 28th.

I love her use of neutral colors to create clean fresh feeling spaces. The use of natural elements in interesting ways it definitely inspiring. I hope you are all inspired and have fallen in love with her designs like I did! Visit Dehn Bloom’s website for more information.

Beautiful Banquettes

22 May

I love dining room banquettes. They are not only comfortable, but they add another focal point in the dining area. I gathered a few pictures of ones I love. Hope you do too!

I love how dramatic this banquette is. The height and tufting add an amazing focal point.

This banquette seems so beachy and elegant. I love the mix of fabrics and white wood. This little dining area is very inviting.

I love this pink geometric table! The banquette frames it perfectly.

I am in love with this whole set up. The banquette, clear chairs, oversized pendant, and gallery wall are all amazing. This contemporary space is gorgeous and inviting.

I have always been a huge fan of Andy Warhol’s artwork. I love the vibrant colors and patterns he uses. I love the way his artwork adds a special touch to any room. Here are some great examples of his vibrant colors being used in different spaces.

The Headboard

17 May

Who doesn’t love a good headboard? I am searching for ideas for my own headboard and there are so many wonderful ideas out there!  Upholstered headboards are a great option, but I also love wood, metal, and other interesting options. I love a great statement in the bedroom and I think the headboard is the perfect way to achieve a great look.  Here are a few ideas I came up with.

How gorgeous is this ornate carved wood?? The height and dark color add some drama to the space.

This dramatic upholstered headboard is gorgeous! I love the nail head accents to add extra drama.

I love this! This unique headboard is made from metal roofing. It is such a creative idea and really makes a bold statement.

I love this chic head board idea. Using the mirrors over the tufted headboard add glamour and the illusion of a higher ceiling.

This kelly green headboard with the mirrored trim is so pretty. It is glamorous and very simple.

The Perfect Gray

16 May

Happy Wednesday everyone! Today I have quite a treat for you. I have a wonderful guest post from Design Shuffle to share with you. If you haven’t heard of them you should definitely check them out! I hope you enjoy!

Hello, everyone! It’s Mari here from Design Shuffle, the fantastic online community for interior designers and design lovers from around the world. Writing for Design Shuffle, I often have the pleasure of doing guest posts for great blogs like The Suite Life. What a clever name! Today’s topic is all about the perfect gray. With so many shades of this lovely and newly rediscovered neutral, it can be difficult to settle on just one perfect hue. The good news about that interior design dilemma is it really isn’t necessary to choose only one—just be sure the mix is compatible. This color scheme works in living rooms, dining rooms and more. A mix of several shades makes for a beautiful gray color palette. For your decorating inspiration, we’ve collected eight perfect grays. Please enjoy!

Perfect Gray

Pale grays and black are combined with touches of acid green in this cool contemporary living room. Black seems to strengthen, not diminish these soft shades of gray.

Perfect Gray

From pale to medium hues, grays combined with golden yellows, are gorgeous here. I love the clear acrylic arm chair and the shiny silver tables.

Perfect Gray

Blue grays and gray greens are perfect for dining room decorating ideas. Here the gray has been carried up onto the ceiling. Pure white woodwork is a great contrast to the walls.

Perfect Gray

From floor to ceiling and on everything in between, grays look gorgeous in this huge dream kitchen. Fit for any professional or amateur chef, this one is filled with lots of high-end features so it’s functional as well as beautiful.

Perfect Gray

Dark gray washed cabinets, marble flooring and countertops, along with white subway tile make this kitchen divine. Who could resist those two sturdy and oh, so deep sinks?

Perfect Gray

Golden tones accent the pale grays in this stylishly chic bedroom design. How pretty are the graphic squares behind the bedside tables?

Perfect Gray

I’ve been smitten by this elegant and understated bath. The paint and towels are definitely a perfect gray for me. The herringbone design on the floor adds beautiful pattern and texture.

Perfect Gray

Completely unexpected in a bathroom, these oversized elements—mirror, pedestal and urn—make a unique design statement. In contrast, the small elements—tiny display shelves, wall sconces and framed black and white prints add dimension and depth to the space. The ornate chandelier and deep tub beckon one to enjoy a long leisurely soak. Images 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8
