Chew on This: Popsicles

With the weather heating up and summer approaching I thought it was a perfect time to share some refreshing and delicious popsicle recipes with you!

Berry Yogurt Popsicles

Watermelon Mojito

Strawberry Peach Vodka Collins Popsicles

Mixed Berry and Coconut Yogurt Popsicles

I cup Mixed Berries fresh or frozen

5 tbs Honey

1 1/2 cups full fat Greek yogurt

1/2 cup coconut milk

1/2 cup shredded coconut

1 vanilla pod de-seeded

pinch of salt

Directions:

Put your popsicle molds in freezer before starting. To make the berry sauce, blend berries with 1 tbs of honey. Strain through fine sieve and drizzle sauce equally into molds coating the sides. Place molds back into the freezer until sauce has set.

Add the rest of the ingredients together and mix until combined. Pour equally into the molds. Place into the freezer until set.

Designer Showcase: Dehn Bloom Design

Today I am going to show you some amazing designs by Allison Bloom of Dehn Bloom Design. She is a San Francisco based interior designer. I love finding amazing designers in my area! Her design work is motivated by a desire to create thoughtful and beautiful interiors. Natural light, good proportions and a connection to the outdoors are all key components of her designs. I love her mix of raw and refined materials in her designs. Her designs are inspiring and feel so fresh.

The two images above are from the SF Decorator Showcase House where 30 designers work to renovate a historic home in San Francisco. The showcase goes thru May 28th.

I love her use of neutral colors to create clean fresh feeling spaces. The use of natural elements in interesting ways it definitely inspiring. I hope you are all inspired and have fallen in love with her designs like I did! Visit Dehn Bloom’s website for more information.

Beautiful Banquettes

I love dining room banquettes. They are not only comfortable, but they add another focal point in the dining area. I gathered a few pictures of ones I love. Hope you do too!

The Headboard

Who doesn’t love a good headboard? I am searching for ideas for my own headboard and there are so many wonderful ideas out there!  Upholstered headboards are a great option, but I also love wood, metal, and other interesting options. I love a great statement in the bedroom and I think the headboard is the perfect way to achieve a great look.  Here are a few ideas I came up with.

The Perfect Gray

With so many shades of this lovely and newly rediscovered neutral, it can be difficult to settle on just one perfect hue. The good news about that interior design dilemma is it really isn’t necessary to choose only one—just be sure the mix is compatible. This color scheme works in living rooms, dining rooms and more. A mix of several shades makes for a beautiful gray color palette. For your decorating inspiration, we’ve collected eight perfect grays. Please enjoy!

Pale grays and black are combined with touches of acid green in this cool contemporary living room. Black seems to strengthen, not diminish these soft shades of gray.

Mother’s Day Entertaining

Rue Magazine has their new May issue out and there are some amazing new ideas. One that I thought I would share with you is their Mother’s Day ideas. Some of the Bay Area’s best entertaining experts put together a beautiful brunch in Napa and I was truly inspired. They have some great tips you can use for your own Mother’s Day celebration.

Some of the expert tips include: Choose a bold fun color palette. Prepare 75% of your food ahead of time. Save the time just before your guests arrive for final baking and plating.

I love the bold red and white stripes creating a tent-like feel. The accents of gold add elegance to this brunch. I hope you get some great ideas. This issue of Rue Magazine is great!
